One standard from the CPALMS website that I found interesting was SC.912.TI.1.6. This standard explores the impact that technology has on personal life. This includes smartwatches, AI, computers, digital currency, and all other forms of technology seen in society today. I do not have sufficient experience with technology to effectively teach this standard, as I am not as digitally literate as I would like to be. I do not know much about digital currency or AI, so I am not equipped to teach others about technology.

In the CPALMS toolkit, I found several tools that may be useful when I become a teacher. One that stood out to me was the CPALMS Code app, which allows students to explore coding through an online lab. When I learned more about this Code app, I saw that it is very interactive and would be a great tool for engaging students. Having access to tools like this when I become a teacher will be helpful to ensure I am teaching the standard in an interactive way to my students.

Being a proficient internet searcher is a skill that is beneficial for teachers. Educators constantly need to find reliable information, lesson plan ideas, updated standards, and tools for themselves and students. This week for EME2040, I learned about Google's advanced search area, which I will definitely use from now on. I was not aware of this going into this class, but now I use it for almost everything because it only gives reliable and peer-reviewed sources.
