I had never created a website before starting this assignment, and I learned a lot from the experience. learned how to navigate the website Weebly, and the instructions given to me by my professor made this assignment easy to complete. In this assignment, I became very proficient at linking websites in a Word format, so it doesn't detract from the aesthetic of the website. I used the design principle of white space to focus the reader's attention on the words that are written to help them navigate through the website. I enjoyed the newness of this assignment, since it was something I had never done before, but finding images to fill the website's pages was difficult. When I become a teacher, I would like to put more time and energy into creating a website for my students and their parents to refer to if they ever have any questions, and I am not available to answer right away.     A creative way I can use QR codes in my classroom is by having a galle...

One standard from the CPALMS website that I found interesting was SC.912.TI.1.6. This standard explores the impact that technology has on personal life. This includes smartwatches, AI, computers, digital currency, and all other forms of technology seen in society today. I do not have sufficient experience with technology to effectively teach this standard, as I am not as digitally literate as I would like to be. I do not know much about digital currency or AI, so I am not equipped to teach others about technology.  In the CPALMS toolkit, I found several tools that may be useful when I become a teacher. One that stood out to me was the CPALMS Code app, which allows students to explore coding through an online lab. When I learned more about this Code app, I saw that it is very interactive and would be a great tool for engaging students. Having access to tools like this when I become a teacher will be helpful to ensure I am teaching the standard in an interactive way to my stude...

I was nervous about blogging at first because I had never done anything like this, but it has proven to be a fun way to share my thoughts. An aspect of blogging I did not like initially, and I am still getting used to, is that my account is public. While chances are slim that someone stumbles on my blog, I still sometimes feel uncomfortable that anyone can access it. However, I like that this blog is getting me out of my comfort zone, and I am having fun with it so far I believe that AI in a school setting has a time and place. AI is already a huge platform, so it will be impossible to tell my students they can never use it. AI can be an extremely helpful tool, so I want to show my students how to responsibly and ethically use it to help with assignments and learning, rather than the software simply doing the assignment for them. I believe that AI is also important for teachers to know how to use, since their students are inevitably using that technology. I had never used generati...

"citizen engagement"  by Rootworks  is licensed under CC BY-ND 4.0     All throughout my K-12 years, I used only Google platforms. This included Google Docs, Google Slides, etc., and I was never comfortable using Microsoft software. When I first came to college, I was nervous to use Microsoft because I was not comfortable navigating it yet, but after having done numerous assignments, I can confidently say I enjoy using Microsoft more than Google. I believe that the Microsoft tools pair better with my Windows laptop than the Google platform, and there are many more user-friendly tools in Microsoft.     The ISTE Standard for Education that is most meaningful to me is 2.2, which describes citizenship. In an almost completely digital world, students must learn how to be good digital citizens. The world will not move backwards in the development of technology, so we will only become more online as time goes on. In one of my education classes, I learned that the...
